  • Heat for the building is provided in the rent. Separate thermostats are in each apartment.
  • Each apartment has a separate meter for electricity and is responsible for his/her electric services. Electric services are available through Orange and Rockland Company. The resident student is responsible to establish an account with O&R upon occupancy of campus.

Length of Occupancy
Apartments are normally rented for the academic year, with the option of continuing in the summer. Students are expected to vacate their apartments at the end of the semester when they graduate. Housing contracts are renewed on an annual basis and expire May 31st of each year. Requests to move in earlier may be noted on the application, but cannot always be granted.

Housing Considerations

  • Graduate students have first priority for Seminary Housing. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Assigned housing will be available one week prior to registration.
  • The college reserves the right to change assigned rooms as necessary.
  • Single students living in an apartment alone are required to pay the full price of the monthly rental cost. They may also be asked to take on a roommate, if space concerns warrant it. Rent will be adjusted at that time.
  • Please note that in order to qualify for housing you must be accepted and/or enrolled as a full-time student.
  • Once approved to live in housing a security deposit along with a signed contract will be required.
  • Please be aware that no pets, firearms, or waterbeds are permitted in campus housing.

Application

Housing is contingent upon your acceptance. Applications will be made available by request once accepted. Apartments for graduate and/or married students are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis as applications are received. For applications or questions you may call the Auxiliary and Conference Services Office at 845-358-1710 Ext. 4502 or email jenny.lee@nyack.edu.
